Wow.
We’re numbers people, so let’s start there:
3: Mustaches shaved off
28: Gift baskets donated for raffle
125: People attended the first StacheStrong event
$2,662: Raffle tickets sold during event
$13,135: Total money raised to date for GBM research
Our family has not been able to stop smiling ear to ear while talking about the event. Simply put, our hearts have never been fuller.
The night was everything we had hoped for AND MORE. The room was PACKED all night and it was great to catch up with all of our friends, whom are really family at this point. We shouldn’t be surprised by the turnout because although it has certainly been a life altering past 8 months, something that has never altered has been the constant support and love from friends and family. Everyone always asks, “let me know if you need anything” and “what can i do to help.” Last Thursday was exactly what everyone can do.
Be Present.
Be Engaged.
Be StacheStrong.
I consider Thursday’s event to be a stepping stone and precursor at what is to come and don’t worry, we’re just getting started! We may not be donning mustaches at the moment, but I want to reiterate that #StacheStrong is more than facial hair. It’s a lifestyle. It’s looking at the day in front of you as an opportunity to be stronger and greater than you were yesterday. It’s appreciating before complaining. If you’re ever confused at what StacheStrong is about, just take a look over at Geej. He embodies StacheStrong.
My brother’s diagnosis isn’t fair, it isn’t easy and that will never change. But what CAN change is what we do and how we impact tomorrow. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts and we look forward to future events.
End GBM. Together we can. Together we will.
As an additional note, we had a lot of interest in the shirts we were wearing so we’ve put out inquiries to different companies on price and quantity and will be launching a presale in the near future. We are an official 501(c)3 Not-for-Profit entity and can start accepting checks made out to StacheStrong. If you have any ideas or suggestions for future events or fundraisers, please email StacheStrong@gmail.com. If you have been growing a mustache at any point or are looking to in the future, please email a video of yourself with the mustache and a short clip of what StacheStrong means to you. Stay tuned for all pictures from the event!!!
Best,
StacheStrong
When: Thursday, April 12th: 6:30PM – ???
Where: Jackson’s Eatery

Who: YOU!!
What: Brain Cancer Research Fundraiser
Why: I will be running the NYC Marathon in November and have decided to use this platform to raise money and awareness for Brain Cancer Research. The 1st step will be shaving off our mustaches for charity!!! That’s right, the Gerner men will be raising money to have our iconic mustaches shaved off…and the razor is in YOUR hands. Everyone who donates to our site will be entered into a raffle to shave a portion of the mustache on April 12th.
From now until April 12th, let’s see how much these Staches can raise!!!
